One of the perks of the radio biz is getting to meet "rappas" and "sangas" (and maybe one day some "rappas-ternt-sangas") every now and then, and thanks to OC104, I've met: Busta Rhymes(!), Funkmaster Flex, Colby O'Donis, 2 Pistols, DJ Lazy K, DJ Rob E Rob, and Persia from VH1's The (White) Rapper Show. [Not to mention Twitter... shouts to Spinderella, Fab 5 Freddy, Estelle, and even John Brown, also from VH1's The (White) Rapper Show, plus everybody else showing me love!]
I got to meet and interview: Ryan Leslie aka R-Les (this guy's gonna be around for a looong time), Lloyd (who hooked me up with a hilarious drop for my show... always love for that), Wordsmith (one of the best MCs on the face of the earth, and he made me an intro just to show love - how real is that?! - Bridging The Gap dropping July 14!!), Slim of 112 (who took the time to show us love even though he was tired as hell after a show), and DJ Unk (he was just a character).
On top of that, I had the distinct pleasure of interviewing Hip-Hop legend Chubb Rock over the phone; the best conversation about Hip-Hop I've ever had with anyone in my life. Always peace and love to Chubb Rock.
I've also interviewed Gorilla Zoe and Mike Jones over the phone.
Honorable mentions go to Storitela and Infinite, both of whom I know from outside of the biz and always hold me down.
