About Me

kikai (jap./kanji) means "ocean of energy".
Kikai started hitting the keys the classical way in 1974. a few years later (1985) he heared songs of Rick Wakeman and Kraftwerk and after many lessons of arranging and playing the rock-piano, he was the keyboard-player of the famous local-hero rockband "thanx" near Hannover. his studio containes some of the smartest synths available: minimoog, prophet5, jupiter8, synthex, wave2.3 and so on. during the 90s he contributed licks and samples to other artists and had a few starrings as guest-keyboarder with befriended bands. since 2000 he's again more in making music for his own. An idiosyncrasy of kikai is recording all instruments live except that drum- and percussion-stuff. so no use of sequencers at all.
the music of "Kikai" is inspired by machines and sounds from the early age of synthesizer music - freshed up with ambient and sonic elements.
