My son Brandon was born with TGA (Transposition of the Greater Arteries), where the main 2 arteries were formed reversed, he was considered a "blue baby"..had to be heliported from birth hospital to Syracuse NY childrens hospital then emergency ambulance to NY Children Presbyterian Hospital/Morgan Stanley to have his shunt put in at 9 days old, which saved him tremendously, THANK GOD, but he still needed open heart surgery which was one when he was 15 months old, on my birthday 12/4/07, back in NYC CHILDRENS HOSPITAL again by same surgeon, Dr Jonathen Chen, AMAZING MAN , MY HERO ! Thats where the Dr put a pigs valve in him & Brandon was on a heart bypass machine for over 2.5 hrs longer than expected, but he came out amazing, pink toes & fingers & lips were the 1st thing we noticed rather than blue & hes the best lil boy ever & normal.
He will need 2 more pig valve replacements in his life, the next one will be apx double digits age, 10 or 11, and then again apx 18 or 19 yrs old ,but until then he can be the little rambuxious lil boy he wants to be, he's my MIRACLE BOY, my only son & yes he's definitely a MaMa's Boy & he will get away with murder with me , haha !!
