About Me

Broken with hope (the kind kind). Enough about me...

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

I'd like to meet the mommy of one of the 30,000 kids that starved to death yesterday and tell her I'm really sorry I didn't do anything to help. I hope she thinks my profile pic is cute.

"How can we enjoy pleasures admist the calamities of our bretheren? May God preserve me from being rich while they are indignant, from enjoying robust health if I do not try to cure their diseases. From eating good food, clothing myself well, and resting in my home, if I do not share with them a piece of my bread, and give them in the measure of my abilities part of my clothes, and if I do not welcome them into my home." - Gregory of Nazianzus

"A person has to be thoroughly disgusted with the way things are to find the motivation to set out on the Christian way. As long as we think the next election might eliminate crime and establish justice or another scientific breakthrough might save the environment or another pay raise might push us over the edge of anxiety into a life of tranquility, we are not likely to risk the arduous uncertainties of the life of faith. A person has to get fed up with the ways of the world before he, before she, acquires an appetite for the world of grace." - Eugene Peterson

Who isn't repulsed by the image of the cliché detached dad: After a hard-day's work he comes home, turns off his heart, turns on the TV, and leaves the domestic duties of feeding, loving, cleaning, di...

True Love Doesnt Wait

I think one day I'll be an amazing husband. I'll be that guy you see in the movies. The one that saturates his girl with LOVE, affection, kind words, good deeds, secret gifts, and tons of inside jokes...

The Good News: More Than a Smirk

Sharing The Good News can be tough. Awkward. Sometimes downright embarrassing.   Most of us leave that part up to the preachers. We play our part by casually inviting our friends to church once ...

The Good Saab

Jesus never led anyone in the sinner's prayer. Actually it was never once mentioned in the Bible. Not by any of the disciples. Not by Paul either. We made it up, cause it sorta summarizes the basics o...

Judgement, The Straight Leg Kind

The Part About Saving The World: We all wanna save the world. None of us are interested in changing ourselves. Let's keep talking about it. Let's keep thinking about. While we're at it, let's keep buy...

SLASHing a Goat

I get freaked out each time I read that part in Matthew where Jesus talks to the goats. Pain and chills run up my spine every time I read it: "I tell you the truth, when you refused to help the least...

Snoozle

I think I'm in love with my snooze button. I'd like to liquor my snooze button-up, take her back to my place, throw in the Neverending Story and cuddle a little. Why? Because my snoozle (true lo...
