Rafael Carrasquillo is a pianist, keyboard player, composer and educator living and working in and around New York City. During the day, he teaches at the Washing Park School in Totowa, New Jersey, where not only he illuminates his students with his wicked musical knowledge, but also is enlightened by his students’ witty remarks and complaints. He holds a B.A. in Music from that prestigious center of education, the University of Puerto Rico. Also under his belt are intensive courses from the Conservatory of Puerto Rico and NYU. Currently working with his trio Critical Mass, Rafael also indulges heavily in history, photography, creative writing and field recording. Documenting the moment is one element of the highest priority, as well as the ever expanding field of knowledge. You can also listen to his all electronic endeavors at myspace.com/greenelectric.
