Well I’ll like to start of by thanking God for every blessing that he has brought my way, without him and the love of my parents I don’t know where I would be right now. My name is Frendy Lemorin and I was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Yes, it may be a surprise to a lot of you but I am Haitian. I moved into the United States at the age of 7 years old with my parents in order to live a better life. It was really hard at first because I did not speak a lick of English, all I knew was French and Creole (official language of Haiti). There was no way that I could communicate with my peers and because of that I would get picked on. Rather than use my anger and retaliate, I used it to fuel my thirst of gaining more knowledge in order to be successful in my studies. As a result, I became one of the top students in my class throughout my whole middle school career. My first real paying job was at Duane Read Pharmacy, getting paid $5.15 an hour while attending Brooklyn College. At the time I really didn’t think about how low I was getting paid, I knew this was just a stepping stone for me to move on to bigger and better things. In today’s society young adults do not realize the value of hard work, they want money to come in so fast and abundantly they end up doing a lot of illegal things. I was lucky enough to have love-ones teach me the value of honest hard work in order to make my dreams become reality…Now look at me I am currently working at BAPE NYC, a Japanese urban clothing company which is worth millions of dollars and living out my dreams as a working actor.
