About Me

Annie Neeley and Dave Kirkpatrick met at band practice in garage in Fairmont, West Virginia. They were both doin time in a southern rock outfit called The Road Dawgs. Soon they discovered that they shared a deep, deep love for Howlin Wolf, Hazel Dickens and dark whiskey.Dave joined Annie's band ~Shotgun Annie & Liquored Up~ and they played all through the hills and hollers of North Central West By God. Things were goin pretty good until the band's telecaster player drove his Buick into a tree after having one too many at gig. The guitar player, the Tele and the amplifier were just fine, but the Buick burned to the ground (along with Annie's Loretta Lynn box set) and his wife wouldn't let him come out to play anymore. So, Annie and Dave headed out to D.C. (Doddridge County) to play bluegrass with Wayne Woods who knows a thousand songs and can remember the words to several of them. Annie banged on the guitar and Wayne played the banjo and Dave started to wrestle pretty good with the bull fiddle. Sometimes it sounded like music. But it's hard to pay the rent bangin on the guitar and wrestlin the bull fiddle so Dave & Annie hatted up and headed to the great city of Nashville, TN where they hoped to meet the ghost of Hank Williams. (Which they did.) They also hoped to keep making music with great musicians. (Which they do.)
