About Me

Lucas Goodrich recently toured with OPERA Iowa singing Count Almaviva in The Barber of Seville and Dr. Pammell and Henry Reney in A Dream Fulfilled: The Saga of George Washington Carver. This summer he returns to Iowa to join Des Moines Metro Opera as a James Collier Apprentice Artist where he will cover Spoletta in Tosca. Other performing credits include The Messenger in Aida, Robert Livingston in 1776, Tony in West Side Story, Tamino in Die Zauberflöte, Male Chorus in The Rape of Lucretia, Benvolio in Romeo ét Juliet, Nanki-Poo in The Mikado, and Tony in Master Class. As a graduate student at the University of Colorado, Mr. Goodrich served as a teaching assistant and his thesis work includes a reference guide to Italian song literature for young singers. While at CU, he was a regular soloist with the Early Music Ensemble under the direction of renowned harpsichordist Elizabeth Farr. He has appeared as a soloist with the Arvada Center Chorale, Grace Chorale, Boulder Messiah Chorale, and Eastern Symphony Orchestra, performing concert works such as Britten’s Ceremony of Carols, Handel's Messiah and the Mozart Vespers. Mr. Goodrich was recently seen in productions of Oklahoma and Cosi fan tutte with the Natchez Festival and was a Festival Artist with Utah Festival Opera. Mr. Goodrich maintains an active voice studio in Boulder when he is not performing and holds degrees from the University of Colorado (MM 2007) and Eastern Illinois University (BM 2004). He is a native of Arthur, Illinois and currently resides in Boulder, Colorado where he studies with Margaret Lattimore and Kate Emerich.
