About Me

Intro. I'm happily married to my high school sweetie, own a home, and have a job that I love. I live in central NC, one of the greatest places to live, in my humble opinion -- mountains on one side, the ocean on the other, and plenty of city & country in between. I am originally from southwestern Pennsylvania, so my accent is peculiar ... but that's just something that makes me interesting, hopefully. I have definitely picked up a southern drawl, but I can't say I mind it much ... I can hardly help it :o)
APS of Orange County. I'm a vet assistant at the APS of Orange County , and I assist in the Dog Training Program, do a lot of work on the APS website, and seem to make a never-ending amount of flyers. At home, I have 3 dogs and 4 cats. I also volunteer for Pit Bull Rescue Central . I am absolutely passionate about what I do and can't imagine doing anything else.
My best friend. My husband & I have been together since 2001, and although our relationship isn't perfect (whos is?), my favorite part is being goofy & picking on each other. We have really grown into adulthood together, and what I find amazing is we have remained just as close even though we were much different people in high school. For me, the most important thing in a relationship is humor, b/c what is life and love without the fun? A lot of things can change, like your passions, interests, and opinions ... but laughter will always remind us to not take life too seriously.Books. I ♥ Kathy Reichs novels (which the show Bones is based from), Dean Koontz, & reading anything in general. Magazines are great too, my favorites are People & Entertainment Weekly, b/c celebrities have always intrigued me. I know a lot of useless information because of this!
Music. I ♥ cramming music onto my iPod. I grew up with a dad who played guitar, sang, wrote music, & played records every day, mostly classic rock. I have liked every genre of music at one point of my life, but I will always be partial to the music I grew up with, rock & acoustic guitar. I have been turned on to a bunch of indie & folk lately from listening to the songs Zach Braff picks out for his movies and Scrubs, and also a friend of mine who plays the guitar. Life is too short to stick to the same sounds all the time ... mix it up.
