Tequila Mockingbird was born in 1994 in a laundry room in Buda, Texas. We now make music in a 6,200 sq. ft. studio in downtown Austin. Appropriately, a bathhouse from the seventies.
The founding partners are Wally Williams and Danny Levin--an ad guy and a music guy. Both mildly insane.
We've done music and sound design for more commercials than you can shake an intern at. (maybe even two) We've written hundreds of scores, beds and short, intelligent lyrical songs. And an occasional jingle-yah well, it keeps us going. We also do ADR and music/sound for films, computer games and various other projects. And somehow, we seem to be constantly working on CDs with our friends.
We have a full-time staff of 10 tormented people. And, we have working relationships with at least two-dozen free-lance composers-not to mention a retinue of world-class players. If you come work with us, we'll go out and meet some of them at their gigs. And you can go home with a great spot or campaign and stories from the "Live Music Capital of the World."
