Hyper As Hell was formed back in 1986 in the controversial college town of Kent, Oh. by Don Brown, Jeff Hutchings, Rich Gambert and Boom(The Legion Of Doom). Soon after it's incarnation, Ron E. Banner joined at second guitar and then came a string of drummers: Jay Lucarreli, Diane Globbe, Aaron from Mannequien Odd, and Nick Remis. Finally, someone was crazy enough to stick it out for a while. Matt Oponius joined the band and HAH started to really jell and started playing with national touring bands like SNFU, COC, DRI, Dayglo Abortions, Life Sentence and Dr Know. The strong arm of the law got in the way in 1989 and the band had a leave of absence for a few years. They had recorded 26 songs for "Primer At This End" with Bill Korecki at Mars Recording Studio between 1987 and 1989. The band reformed in 1993 with new drummer, Matt Lindsey and put out a demo called Mr. Fixit consisting of six new songs. Before Mr. Fixit, the band mostly did hardcore/metal but Mr.Fixit was a lot slower and more compared to the likes of Bad Brains. The band fizzled within a year of getting back together....yeah...yeah...yeah....Drugs and Alcohol. It gets us together and then tears us down.
