Paul Rivera is one of the world’s most influential guitar amplifier designers and has been at the cutting edge of great guitar tone for over a quarter of a century. He founded Rivera Research and Development in 1976. His early work as a consultant/designer included stints at Yamaha (G50 and G100), Music Man (RD Series), Mesa Engineering and Fender (Super Champ, Concert, Princeton II & Twin Reverb II etc.) Many of these early designs are now highly collectable and Paul’s association with them attracts a premium price. In the late1980’s, Rivera introduced the first properly integrated stereo rack guitar amplifier, the TBR1, which was immediately put to use by Toto’s Steve Lukather. This was followed up with their pro amplification range, the M/S Pro series and the workhorse ‘R’ series, which have since evolved into other ranges (Quiana, Fandango, etc.).Rivera have been well-established as one of the premium amplifier brands in the USA and Europe for many years and are proud to have one of the longest and most diverse user lists of any amp manufacturer. A customer making a phone call for technical advice/help will often find themselves talking to Paul Rivera himself. Paul constantly works with legendary performers, cutting-edge artists and engineers at live venues or in state-of-the-art LA studios to develop tomorrow’s sounds today, as well as crafting classic tones that are 100% authentic.
