X-Con

1980 Ronald Reagan is nominated for US President; the Mariel boat lift from Cuba begins that same year in the heart of Miami Shelton Poitier was born.Known to the Hip-Hop and Rap world as X-con, Con moved throughout Miami learning from the streets, as he approached manhood he found a release from the day to day grind by rapping becoming one of Miami’s premier rappers. With the lyrical skills of a poet, X-con paints a picture so vivid; if you close your eyes you’re right there.As a youth he was discovered by one of Miami top producers Almighty “C” Owner and Founder of Opa Locka Records and now CEO of Push Play Music Inc. In the Lab X-con had that fire and the skills but was unpolished so with the help of Almighty “C” X-con came of age. He was then teamed with another up and coming artist Dirty Rolle and with in weeks Solid Waste was born. Together they released the EP Sudden Impact that hit the streets with hits like Doing Time, Nigga Trying to Come Up, and the single well ahead of its time Beef For My Grill.X-con was then ready to take on the majors. He signed with 1st String/ Electra Records and released his 1st single Whoa Lil Mama that hit the Bill boards Hip-Hop and R&B charts that same year, he was well on his way, but when your great uncle is the well known actor director Mr. Sidney Poitier this artist like his great uncle is bound for greatness in the world of Hip-Hop.
