About Me

After Brutal DLX split I bled glitter for glam every month for three years with the Gutter Gangster All-Stars (the house band at L.A.'s scandalous Club Makeup). There I played with an amazing assortment of rock's elite (Dee Dee Ramone, Clem Burke, Chris Vrenna, Steven Perkins, Gilby Clarke, Paul Ill, Joey Waronker, Steven Adler, Daniel Shulman, Lydia Lunch, Jim Thurwell, Richard O'Brien, Alexis Arquette, Ann Magneson) in an amazing series of way over the top theatrical performances. In my no money years I played piano until my knuckles were blue at the Canter's Jams at the Kibbitz Room (hey, they fed us afterword. THAT was heaven). I played Baba's Sunday Jam's at Raji's (I stood in the alley last week that used to be the load in to Raji's; it's a parking lot now).I have deep love and friendship and occassional collaboration with the We3Kings/Whiskey Falls contingent.Yowzah and Dominique and I had a band called Picasso's Nuts way way back in the day.Paul Ill and I had a downtempo/trip hop players band (Shana was in it, too) called Psychotronic. Somewhat shortlived but hugely successful artistically. Look for a Psychotronic return.I played for about a year with punk legend Wayne Kramer.Last year I played bass (1 of 20) in Glen Branca's Hallucination City for 100 Guitars at the Disney Concert Hall as part of the Minimalist Jukebox series.I play keyboard, guitar, bass, a little drums (I program, who doesn't?) and, of course, mainly, I sing. I write songs. I produce other artists. I sit in with other bands. I help with other projects. I recycle. And, every once in a while, I help an old lady accross the street.I enjoy performing a wide variety of music and have (and continue to) lent my talents to a slew of different performers and projects. Most recently I did a stint with as Rank Smell: Guitarist for The Scumbagz (myspace.com/thescumbagz) and as the lead guitarist in Carter Armstrong's All The Grownups (myspace.com/allthegrownups). I love the music life. I will never be done with it.
