About Me

living in Ocean City NJ a block from the beach with my boyfriend brent and a mile from lil' sis. I'm working as a biologist with the state's endangered and nongame species program, which is the best job ever. i am working towards my masters degree in ecology and evolution at Rutgers-- i'm on the slow but steady program - ie fitting in classes around work - so I have three yrs under my belt and am looking at another year and a half before i defend. but it's all good. i am still running (16 yrs this summer) and now actually enjoy competing in local races, triathalons and marathons (well i've only done one, but that will change!). life is good...

Music:

big fan of soundtracks-- just like the mix of different artists you get in one handy place. favs include rushmore, royal tenenbaums, garden state, last kiss, trainspotting, dracula also a fan of they might be giants, barenaked ladies, modest mouse, killers, pixies, black eyed peas and just discovered coconut records and have nighttiming on non stop

Movies:

the graduate, any wes anderson movie, anything with a wilson brother (i'm not picky), blue crush (my guilty pleasure), nightmare before christmas, garden state, say anything, better off dead, wet hot american summer and i love documentaries - the more random the topic the better

Television:

lost, the office, house, daily show/colbert report... and radio-wise: sirius satellite (love stern and "this american life" on npr)

Books:

hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy, one hundred years of solitude (and really anything by garcia-marquez), christopher moore books (but especially "i know why the winged whale sings"), jasper fforde books, america: the book... also any nature-y books, like animal architects by the goulds, and looking forward to reading the kiterunner
