Hello, I’m Nicola. I’m making a documentary! It’s an interactive documentary that follows music and art within culture. It doesn’t have specific message or moral code, just questions and answers portrayed with some experimental moving image and animation techniques. I’ll be keeping a blog throughout the next year of my progress, including whom I’ve contacted, interviewed and filmed etc. I’ll be traveling to London, Berlin and finally ice land for interviews, so there will be a beautiful diversity of bands and artists. My final proposal for this project is to hold a day festival in Reykjavik. Hopefully with the help of sponsors and generous people I will be asking those willing to join us.
The actual documentary will be displayed an interactive installation and web program that will be changeable according to the footage selections of the audience. Giving the audience the creative licence and choice to watch any of the footage in the order they choose.
Its experimental I know, but I have a great team of people just waiting to respond to the footage and interviews we get, in order to create what could be the first of a new genre in documentary styles.So if you are an artist, band or magic music and visual lovely, that would be interested in being interviewed. Even if I’m not in a position to get to you for a direct interview, there would be a few possible ideas that we could follow up. Possibilities like a phone interview, that with you permission we record and animate completely. Another would be that you film yourselves using our interview questions, send us the tape and its edited and animated artistically to suite the style of the overall project.
