PHIL YOUNG (Drums) has perfected an eclectic blend of Classic and Contemporary Jazz, Blues, Caribbean-Funk, R&B and Gospel. Groomed by internationally renowned drummers such as Roy Haynes and Grady Tate, Young continues to hone his skills as he himself becomes the model for new up and coming drummers. Whether performing for corporate clients such as Chase Manhattan Bank or community-based organizations such as Greater Harlem Chamber of Commerce, Young delivers a great show. He has appeared together with artists such as Mary Lou Williams, Maxine Sullivan, Earl "Fatha" Hines, Cedar Walton, Dizzy Gillespie, Jonah Jones, Roy Eldridge, Chet Baker, Duke Jordan, Anita O'Day, Francis Fay, Julius La Rosa, Lionel Hampton and many more. His unique style has been heard in England, Italy, France, Spain, Germany, Hungary, Czechoslovakia, Yugoslavia, Switzerland, Austria, Japan, Mexico, Bahamas and Bermuda. Now, Phil Young is working on his new CD "Experience the Magic... Phil's Way" - a totally new approach to Jazz. The combination of hot Latin Jazz, the powerful sound of Traditional Jazz and fast rhythm of Funky Music has triggered a new excitement in the jazz industry.
