2009
Well we've been a bit slack on the ol' myspace of late. AGAIN!
RED RIDERS
Well it's about time, but RED RIDERS are finally back on the musical scene! YAY!
It's been a CRAZY couple of years for the band since the release of their last album Replica Replica. They've lost a member, lost a producer and lost themselves while trying to write their second album.
But you can't keep a good band down! Lead singer Alex Grigg embarked on a US songwriting trip in LA and NYC to get those creative juices flowing again. And bassist Matt Chapman and drummer Tom Wallace also embarked on their own OS adventures.
Fast forward through numerous rehearsals and guitarist auditions...
The band DJ'd at MGMT's Sydney show at the Hordern Pavillion in between sets and got their live chops back when they played at the Oyster Magazine Christmas Party at Oxford Art Factory in December. It was here they finally debuted new songs So Long, Grace, Over & Over and Tomorrow/Today.
Recently they just finished supporting Franz Ferdinand in Melbourne and Sydney. The Franz lads even found time to hang out with Riders after the show and Franz lead singer Alex Kapranos bonded with Riders drummer Tom Wallace over photos he had found of Tom's ancestors in his home (long story - you'll have to wait to hear it another time).
If you've managed to catch the band at any of these shows then you would have noticed a hot young blonde man on stage playing guitar - often referred to by the band as "Bradley Boomtown". Yes, that's right, Brad Heald, bass player for the Vines, can also play guitar! And has joined the Riders family.
Look out for Jeanine's (Street Team Leader) blog on the official Red Riders Street Team pages:

And make sure you stay in touch with Jeanine too!
Red Riders are about to hit the studio in February with producer Woody Annison (Replica Replica). Then they'll be hitting the US in March for SXSW.

Anyway thank you to all the fans who came early to the Franz shows to support Riders. Thank you for sticking it out and being patient. We can't wait for you to hear the new album! It will be well worth the wait!
Stay tuned for more updates and webisodes from the studio too.
MAYA JUPITER
Well Maya has officially made the move over to Los Angeles and has been there for the last 12 months or so. Stay tuned for more updates on her new album which she's recorded in LA!
GABRIEL FRANCOIS
The little guy with the big heart is just finished his way hitch-hiking around Australia to raise money for cancer. We're sure this has given him some inspiring moments from some brand new tracks, and it couldnt have come at a better time! Gabe will be heading to the US to write some new songs and you'll hear some of that in late 2009.
