BIOGRAPHY
Kiss is undoubtedly one of the world's greatest rock bands. Formed in New York in 1973, they have a dedicated following that spans generations of loyal fans. Even though the band is still alive and kicking in full costume and
make-up there is, and has always been, a huge interest in tribute bands who re-create the most important parts of the band's classic show.
KYSS (which simply means "Kiss" in Swedish) was formed in 1992, making them the oldest existing Kiss tribute band in Sweden. One of the reasons for their longevity is probably the fact that they only perform the most well-known Kiss songs - people want only the best and they get it!
KYSS consists of renowned, technically proficient musicians who have
serious fun on stage - a real party band! After having finished their energetic
shows they frequently receive comments like: "You guys sound just like the
originals - only better!"
No expenses were spared when KYSS designed their detailed costumes.
For a long time they resembled the Alive! era, but since May 2002
the costumes consist of visually stunning re-creations of the Love Gun
and Reunion eras.
KYSS has received a lot of rave reviews over the years, also having been
on Swedish television quite a few times. TV appearances include Baren/The
Bar (TV3), Fredag/Friday (TV4) and ZTV News.
Today, KYSS remains Sweden's leading Kiss tribute band, a reality that's
underlined by the fact that the Kiss Army Sweden recognizes the band as the
official Swedish tribute band, choosing to work closely with them.
In 1996, KYSS released a live album (named Kyss Alive!, what else?!) on Tribute Records. The album was recorded at the Hard Rock Café in Stockholm, where the band broke, and still to this day, holds the attendance
record! They are also featured on the Norwegian, vinyl-only, Kiss tribute album "A Tribute To The Hottest Band In The World", released in 2002 on Nosebleed Records.
And, as if all of the above wasn't proof enough that the Stockholm-based party rockers is Sweden’s finest Kiss tribute act, a certain Mr. Simmons has given the band his personal nod of approval! xxx
