The musical phosphor dots of ‘Boom Pretty’ formed joyfully in late 2006 as a three piece combination of drums, piano and vocals and within six months were recording their first record, the three track single ‘Sinless’. The peerless and energetic sound achieved in this record unearthed the bands aspirations of producing an expressive and eclectic sound with both poetic connotations and musical suggestion, drawing on influences ranging from that of vibrant indie right through to lavish valiant operatic eruption. After uprooting some more tracks from the garden of turmoil and plasma-phonic bikinis the group formed a live show, which was exhibited around Melbourne’s various venues from mid 2007 through to early 2008. In April of last year Boom Pretty resolved to harvest some even more thunderous euphonic tunes for their bright-eyed and chipper public, and they set about writing and recording their debut self-titled EP. Armed with a new record, new songs and an exuberant new bass player, Boom Pretty are formulating preparations for a jolly pummel on the Melbourne live music scene.
