Born in Wapakoneta, Ohio on August 5, 1930. Test pilot, I enjoy long walks on the beach and oh yeah I WAS THE FIRST MAN ON THE MOON! Commander of Apollo 11 and Gemini 8. For me Apollo 11 was nothing but the ultimate test flight. I do not view myself as astronaut number 1. Thousands of people worked to get us to the moon. I currently reside in Ohio with my wife Carol.
