BENNECH LYNGBOE made an early mark as a singer/songwriter. It all started in 1987. After a few years of honing his talents as a singer, guitarist and songwriter, he tried out ideas with local rock bands, both as a live and a recording artist. In 1995, he released his self-financed EP "Leaves Of Fall". The entire first edition of 1000 copies sold out in Bergen music stores, and the EP enjoyed 3 weeks on the Hordaland Top Ten. The next 5 years were spent, among other things, raising a family, working on different projects and what was to be the follow-up album to the EP.In 2001 Bennech Lyngboe and Terje Eide met through a cover-band. After awhile Bennech wanted to focus on original material, and on Bennechs proposal Terje Eide agreed to form a duo project. A 5 song demo was recorded with the assistance of Eirik Grønner. It caught the attention of Serafino Peruguino (Frontiers Records) who signed the band in June 2002.
Mr. Peruguino took on the role as executive producer as well as coming up with the On The Rise name. On Melodicrock.com OTR were predicted newcomer of the year 2003, and reached as high as ..7 and ..20 with the songs Lift you up and Pride (both written by Bennech) on the 2003 Award.Due to musical indifferences Bennech left ON THE RISE fall 2003.After leaving, Bennech wasted no time.
He took a few songs, already written for the next OTR album, and made that the starting point for what eventually would become his first full length solo offering (MAIN ATTRACTION/Keep on coming back). Together with a long time writing partner, he came up with well over a dozen new tracks. The new material had a rougher edge to it, but was still melodic and catchy as hell! Finding musicians who would do the music justice wasnt too hard. Bennech brought in Zolt Mezaros (drums) and Jan Martin Klevland (bass), who did a superb job on the OTR album. Completed by the fantastic guitarist (and keyboard player) Ronny Heimdal (D.I.M) they began recording some demos (in Heimdals studio) which had labels both in The States and the U.K. interested. In the end Bennech decided to go with MTM Music, based in Germany, because of their overall enthusiasm and professional attitude.MAIN ATTRACTION was officially formed spring 2005.Work on the album began in Heimdals studio were all the music was recorded.
Vocals and additional guitars were done at different studios.
In 2006 Bennech is determined to promote the album to the max!
And he will try to play live as much as possible.
