Select are three interesting and talented women- Kaly, Tanja, and Monika, who come from a small miner town of Velenje, Slovenia. Besides singing and dancing all their lives, they find the time and energy to work in other fields as well. Kaly and Tanja are both hosts of TV and radio shows and live events. They lend their voices to many ads and infomertials. They are also students and dance instruktors at a school that Kaly, who is also into tae-bo and pilates runs herself. Select have started making pop music in 2002, with a constant desire to incorporate many different rhythms into their sound. They have recorded quite a number of their songs. Last year they've started working with a world-famous producer Michael Weeden- Menace from New York. He wrote and produced the Slovene and English version of their hit single titled U la la (que sera sera). A video was made for this particular song, directed by Slovenian best director Mitja Okorn, which was co-produced by the Slovene national television and filmed with a 16 milimeter camera. It has been a tremendous hit in Slovenia, staying at the top of the charts for several weeks. Some of its appeal goes to the fact that it was shot in a coal mine, some 500 feet below ground level! The video and interview with Select was also shown several times on Global beat TV in New York. Select were also invited to Canadian video festival Cravesfest. They were nominated in cathegory with big names such as Chemical Brothers, Deep Dish, Armand Van Helden, Right Said Fred, Junior Jack, Air,… Girls have also toured heavily, performing live 400 times in the past 4 years. Their popularity goes beyond Slovenia's borders, as they performed in the neighbouring countries and are getting offers across Europe. Their dance-based performances are energetic and very interactive with their audiences. Select girls are also aware that appearances are important in the modern day music industry. Kaly, Tanja, and Monika are currently working on a new project in collaboration with Menace, Schatzi and Martin Štibernik. Menace produced the most songs on album which will be relesed in 2008. It has very positive attitude and that's why Greek label contacted group to do a rmx and release it in Greece. Their producer Mike Michailidis aka d.j. Rhythmick rmxed song called Lovin' Feelin'. Video for the song was out in august 2008. Since Select are known for their perseverence and positive attitude, they will no doubt reach the audiences far beyond their small, European country.
