About Me

High Frequency is an indie rock band whose styles range from rock-n-roll to hard rock and punk to folk infected psychodelic blues. Our influences range from Hendrix to Stones, Beatles, Pink Floyd, Nirvana, 60's garage rock, old Van Halen. Our group has been together since 1995 and was formed in 1992 as a solo project by Dana Oliver, 44, who lives in Great Cacapon, WV. Dana writes the majority of the material and plays rythym, lead, drums and some keys and is originally from the D.C. area. Kevin Bird, 43, from Berkeley Springs, WV, joined as lead guitar, in 1995 for the recording of Vinegar, after the original lineup disbanded after 1994's IN YOUR FACE. Former soundman Gabe Fischer, 37, from Great Cacapon, WV joined shortly thereafter to do bass duties. We found drummer Shane Smith, 35, from Paw Paw, WV, in 1996 after going thru a number of drummers. Shane played with us until May of 2006. We added Brian Kendall, from Largent, WV, to the lineup in June after a long absence from our previous drummer. Brian's last show was Sept 2007, when he left for personal reasons. On October 19, 2007, Shane rejoined our band for a show at the Bluestone Tavern. Haven't seen him since. In December 2007, Will, Dana's 12 year old son, became our drummer. He is one awesome dude, you ain't never heard a kid play like this! You can hear him on our new album "Hard Reality". At this time, we have 10 CDs we have released on our own label, Bad Scratch Records.
