Music, literature, theatre, and (of course) film. I'm fascinated by the possibilities of the medium, and thrilled by those moments when it lives up to them.
I'm a member of the Texas Motion Picture Alliance and the Texas Music Coalition . They're both great organizations dedicated to furthering the cause of the local arts, and I'm proud to be part of the fight.
Interesting people who enjoy a good conversation, especially if it's about books or movies. I'm always up for a chat, so feel free to send me a message if you'd like to compare notes.

I'm just getting into the local music scene here, and there's so much great talent here that I can't believe I missed out on it for so long. But I'm trying to make up for it now. There's so much great music in Texas - ELLE , Luis Arizpe , Laura Marie , Monte Montgomery , and so many more - and I'll try to spotlight it here when I can.
Out of state, my tastes are pretty ... electic. Among the artists and groups that are (or should be) in my collection: Barenaked Ladies, The Beatles, David Bowie, Jonatha Brooke, Dave Brubeck, Jeff Buckley, The Byrds, Aaron Copland, Miles Davis, Dido, Dire Straits, the Finn brothers in all their various combinations (if you remember Split Enz, then I already like you), The Flaming Lips, Peter Frampton (yes, I admit it, I own the Deluxe Edition of Frampton Comes Alive), Thea Gilmore, Gorillaz, Vince Guaraldi, pretty much anything Glen Hansard touches, John Hiatt, Interpol, Gary Jules, Aimee Mann, Sarah McLachlan, Moby, Michael Penn, Sam Phillips, Otis Redding, R.E.M., Squeeze, Talking Heads, James Taylor, The Temptations, U2, Ralph Vaughan Williams, The Verve, Neil Young, Warren Zevon. I'm always open to suggestions, so if you hear something you think I might like, feel free to send me a note about it.
See myspace.com/thelivingroomtheater. ;o)
Current: House, Lost, My Name Is Earl, and the Discovery and History Channels (especially Engineering an Empire - that's a fantastic show). Past: The Office (original BBC version), Taxi, The Prisoner, Jeeves and Wooster, and lots of detective shows from the 70s.
Truth is, I'll read just about anything. So again, if you have any suggestions, I'm more than happy to hear them. Fire away...
