About Me

I'm Rob. If you don't like it, cool! I'm a second year student in Tisch's Graduate Musical Theater Writing Program. Some say it's crazy to get a Master's Degree in "Musical Theater Writing." Some say we're all a bunch of hyper-educated yuppies putting off working in the real world. I happen to agree with these people, but I'm not in this program because I'm so smart or level-headed."Hindenburg: The Musical" is my first stab at writing a musical and I hope to workshop it in New York. To hear selections from "Hindenburg" and some of my solo work, check out my music page (http://www.myspace.com/robbroadhurst2).You can also check out my 20-Minute Musical "Things That Talk" at www.myspace.com/thingsthattalk.

My Interests

Songwriting, Musical Theater, Playing the Piano, Acting, Writing, Atlanta Braves, Karaoke, Body For Life

I'd like to meet:

Jimmy Falon and punch him square in the face. I can't believe he has his own "Best of" special on SNL. Then again, so does Christopher Walken. Try not laughing at your own terrible jokes you no-talent-ass-clown. Oh, and Ghandi; I want to meet Ghandi.Below is a live staged-read of my 10-minute musical "Memento Mori." I wrote the music and Maggie-Kate Coleman wrote the book and lyrics. It was presented as a final project at the Graduate Musical Theater Writing Program. From left to right: Anna Jacobs (1-800 Susie), Daniel Lincoln (Dad), Brent Black (Eric), Maggie-Kate Coleman (Mom), and Brandon Anderson (Dr. Karl/Mr. Karl/Father Karl). Anna Jacobs is also reading the essential stage directions. I'm pounding away at the piano.Memento Mori
