“The Hands of Cain†were formed in 1983 in Athens, Greece, by the ex-members of the teenage punk-rock band (and one of the first of the Greek punk-rock scene), “Ausschwitssâ€. They were around for about two years, with a number of live gigs in places like the renowned “Pegasus†club and used to be considered part of the Athenian dark-wave scene, that was very lively in the mid ‘80s. Due to bad timing and a disagreement with Creep Records they never had any of their material released, by the time they broke up in 1985. After breaking up, their drummer S. Adam joined “Film Noirâ€.
Due to a strange twist of fate and the web, some of the Hands of Cain demos were discovered no less than 22 years after the group broke up by Marc Schaffer of AnnaLogue Records. In 2009 all existing Hands of Cain material will finally be brought to light in a retrospective vinyl release by AnnaLogue Records.
