Although born in Nashville, Tennessee, Rose Moore started her music career at MacPhail Center for Music in Minneapolis, Minnesota after her family relocated. Formal training in theory/composition, piano, guitar and later voice all directed her onto a recording career in the late nineties with her band Cherokee Rose. Two subsequent independent CD releases earned local, regional and national songwriting awards. Selected as one of twelve artists to perform at the SXSW Native American Showcase brought her to the attention of John Wooler of then Virgin Records US. On the strength of her 15 minute set, he selected her to do a re-mix of the track "Dawa" from the internationally acclaimed CD "Sacred Spirits", which became a featured track on the 1998 release of Pure Moods II. Working with producer The Brave, Rose later contributed two tracks to the follow-up CD, "Sacred Spirits II".Three years later, further collaboration with The Brave led to work on Rose's debut CD for Higher Octave Music. Landing in Frankfurt, Germany on the morning of September 11, 2001, Rose spent an anxious ten days working on the CD not knowing when she would be allowed to return after airports closed across the US. One day before her return flight home, the airports opened and she returned with master tracks of what would become her CD "Spirit of Silence", released by Higher Octave in 2002.Rose spent the next two years writing new songs and touring to support the "Spirit of Silence" release. Performing at WOMAD in 2004, she met London-based producer Nick Hogarth. His creative use of world rhythm and keen pop sensibilities steered her songwriting in a more expansive direction leading to collaboration with Barcelona-based music producer Marcel Graell of Nowhere Studios. Graell, a formidable independent music artist and composer added integral music arrangements to the songs that became her latest CD, "You Will Fly", released in February 2007.Already back in the studio, Rose is writing new songs, exploring deeper the world rhythms she experimented with in her new release, "You Will Fly".
