About Me

First thing you should know about me is that I am a poet. My writing is my way of breathing. I don't take many pictures. If a moment in my life moves me, I'll reflect on it in a poem and hide the truth in metaphors. My blogs are actually some of my most recent poems. My hope is to move people with my poetry, so I hope you like them.I am also a single mom of two incredible kids. I didn't plan to be a single mom, but my husband passed away in April 2002, so here I am trying to make the best of it. April really is the cruelest month. My son is now 14 and a freshman. He wants to be a musician. Really, he wants to be a rockstar. He sings and plays guitar. He also dances ballet and is really good, but don't tell him you heard it from me. My daughter is ten. She loves to sing, plays flute, and has never met an animal she didn't love. I work as an instructor of English at a community college. We all have to work a day job don't we? I hope to effect the world positively with my poetry. I know I have one good novel in me. If only I weren't so easily distracted from the work of writing it.I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Most of the people I would like to meet have died already. Why is that? I wish I could have met Che Guevara, Pablo Neruda and Kurt Cobain. Guevara was one of the most complex men to live, who believed in equality, fairness and was a brilliant writer. Neruda wrote some of the most beautiful love poems and some of the most important political poems of our century. Cobain's lyrics were the voice of my generation. Add a few bottles of wine and that would be an interesting night. I would have loved to have met John Lennon. He wrote some of the most intense and positive songs ever. I guess I like most to meet people with passion and integrity.I want to meet President-elect Barak Obama. Hopefully, I'll get a chance. I'm drawn to people with integrity and passion. When I hear him speak, I feel hopeful. I know he will bring the change we need.

What we have now
