About Me
Jim Bennett has been involved in music it seems all his life or maybe it's that he's been enthralled by it. He began recording music while still in his teens. Jim has been a Jazz programmer and producer in public radio for over 35 years. Mr Bennett was also the General Manager of KPFA, Berkeley for five years and a correspondent for Downbeat Magazine. He has a B.S. degree in Radio, Television and Film from Miami University of Ohio. Jim is a teacher and a sound engineer for the Jazzschool in Berkeley. His jazz program on KPFA , 94.1 FM in Berkeley for over 25 years is entitled Forms and Feelings, which airs Saturdays at 2 PM. He has also started a live jazz performance series on KCSM FM 91.1 in San Mateo called In The Moment, Sunday nights at 8PM. A list of partial recording credits includes:
