The New Black Panther Party for Liberation, Enlightenment and Self Defense was developed in the light of the, what we call, 3rd Generation Black Panther Party by Bro. Aaron Michaels in Dallas, Tx. around 1990. The New Black Panther Party stands firm on the ground of the 10 pt. program and the 9 pt. objectives of our predecessors of the 3rd development Black Panther Party (BPP) for Self Defense. However, it is important for the public to know that the BPP did not begin with our fallen comrades, Br. Huey and Deputy Chairman Fred Hampton but their struggle lives on with us! The BPP started in Alabama in 1965-1966 under the Student Non-violent Coordinating Committee (SNCC), the 2nd development was in New York and the 3rd development was in San Fransisco and Oakland in 1960. Then you come to us, the NEW BLACK PANTHER PARTY for SELF DEFENSE.The current national Chairman of the NBPP is Bro. Attorney Malik Zulu Shabazz, following after the strong leadership of the deceased Bro. Dr. Khalid Muhammad (fallen soldier). Cleveland Links current local Chairman is Bro. Abdul Qahhar , formerly Br. Ben Simmons of the Louisville 7 (look it up!) and our current regional Chairperson is Sis. Queen Amirah Shabazz. We are working locally, regionally and nationally to gain momentum in our communities to liberate, enlighten and educate our Black family about the reality of our position in the world and to uplift them to the movement. KEEP THE MOVEMENT MOVING, FAMILY. We work in conjunction with any Black or African organization who is geared toward the same goals as us.
