Spanner is an experimental new music duo based in St. John's, Newfoundland. Paul Bendzsa plays clarinets, saxes, toys, piano, radio, and analog synthesizers, while Rob Power plays a wide variety of percussion. Recent performances include appearances at the Stockholm Jazz Festival, Newfoundland's Sound Symposium, SOCAN's New Music in New Places, and a variety of shows in unusual venues in and around St. John's.The group just released its second CD, Dark Boat - available at Fred's Records , and the Canadian Music Centre .
