I once knew a guy named Dave...

Life is a tragedy for those who feel, and a comedy for those who think

About Me

Welcome boys and girls to my myspace. I pretty much do all of the same things that one would read about on anyone else's myspace. you gotta check this though:

Music, we use it to abuse ignorance
You simpleton, listen to the wise man's caution
You don't want to be six feet under in a wooden coffin
Parents often wonder why kids are gettin' dumber
Well dummies, listen to wise man's caution
Get smarter and start talkin'.
This is an announcement from The Modern Day Poet

[sidenote] WATCH THE VIDEO!!! This is a video of my friend Joey Kirchgessner and I covering Apologize by One Republic.

My Interests

Music, pool, chillin, writing (songs, research, lyrics, etc.), and listening

I'd like to meet:

The person that came up with this quote:

People who don’t succeed ‘go with the flow’. They get a job, do what the boss says and never try to establish themselves as leaders. They never take chances. Thus, they never acquire The Freedom that is their birthright. ‘Going with the flow’ is easy. They think when you offer no resistance, you never get broken. The contrary is true. If you only test the system in the direction that it moves, there will never be innovation. The world needs to change regularly! Part of your Purpose on Earth is to create proof that You existed. You can’t do that ‘going with the flow’!

Also, I am currently searching for a bunch people from California that really helped to influence me throughout my life. They stood by me through everything, and I would like to get a chance to thank them, and hopefully show them who I am now.

Music:

I'll listen to anything I can get my hands on. Right now its a lot of John Mayer and Silverstein (seems to be the soundtrack of my life right now).

Movies:

Pulp Fiction, Donnie Darko, Resivoir Dogs, Music Movies, Thumbsucker, The Edukators, Requiem for a Dream... As of late, I haven't really gotten around to seeing any movies, but the last one I watched really got to me. WATCH "Hotel Rawanda!"

Television:

I don't really watch tv. I use it as background noise when I want to take a nap.

Books:

Anything that will make me think deeply about the meaning of life. Ayn Rand, Aldus Huxley, Chuck Palahniuk, John Grisham, George Orwell...stuff like that. Kurt Vonnegut Jr., I feel, has really influenced my writing style, and to inform everyone, A Clockwork Orange is brilliant. I tend to read more philosophical texts such as Plato's "The Republic" (read book 7, the Allegory of the Cave) and in talking to me, one will notice that Socrates is subconsciously a hero of mine.

Heroes:

My mother

Philosophy

we really don't know anything as human beings.  we can't learn until we admit we know nothing.  i think its Aristotle that has a quote somewhat similar to that.
