Imagine the southern drawl of a city girl mixed with the swag of a spoken word artist. Well that's what you get when you listen to Miami's own Miss Lyrik, known to the radio world as Lady Lyrik. Since the age of nine this young lady has been mesmerized by music. Picking up her first musical instrument in the 3rd grade, Lyrik knew that music would somehow be apart of her life. At the age of 12, she took on the task of learning to more instrumentals to add to her repertoire. Around 13, Lyrik began to write poetry, poetry then led to writing verses. Always being told that she didn't look like a "rapper" only drove her to continue writing and fine tuning her craft. In high school Lyrik became a constant fixture on Al B. Sylk's (99 Jamz) "Role Call" segment. After that, she began competing in Big Lip Bandit's "Rap Game" against other emcees such as Jin and RK the Fugitive. This allowed emcees to spit their hottest 16 bars and let the listeners determine their fate. Miss Lyrik became the first winner of the "Rap Game" and held the crown months at a time. It was then that Lyrik knew that being in this music industry was something that she would look forward to i the future. After high school, Lyrik relocated to Atlanta, GA to attend Clark Atlanta University. It was on the campus of CAU Lyrik gained a name for herself amongst other emcees and spoken word artists. Doing local shows, Lyrik had to prove herself as an emcee. During this time she recorded a demo with Raw Work Entertainment only to put music on the back burner to pursue a small stint in modeling. She realized her heart wasn't into modeling and music was the only thing to fill that void. After 6 years in Atlanta, Lyrik moved back to Miami and started hanging out with producers and long time friends, Shev Rock and Iman D@vid. From there she was introduced to Skyy High and Black Jack of CPG. After a month of trying to convince her to get on a track, Lyrik finally gave in and got her swag back! Now apart of CPG, Lyrik brings a lady's perspective to the tracks. Being that she is a Lady, she brings out the gentlemen side to these Colonial Park Gangsta's. From the very first track she meshed with the guys; it was like she belonged there. Now back on the grind and with a click to back her up, the game should expect nothing but the best that Miss Lyrik has to offer.
