The RedWaves

About Me

"The Red Waves' music fits in the indie rock category. What helps set the sound apart is the presence of jangling guitars, atmospheric keyboard fills, fine vocal work, smart lyrics and arrangements that go beyond verse-verse-chorus. The Red Waves are credited collectively as writers, and they've done well with songs such as “The First in Line,” “Love Robbed,” “Save You” and “No Reason No Rhyme.” The Red Waves will make waves."Jim Beal Jr. San Antonio Express NewsThe RedWaves began writing and playing in the Fall of 2006. Most of the group up as friends, however the band was not complete until Chris, a bass player and vocalist, landed in the mix and quickly integrated. Each member possesses an inner connection to sound with a greater understanding of where the music comes from and where they want to take it.The sounds are harmonic, yet the beats are edgy; the lyrics are deep rooted however revealing and simple to interpretation. All combined radiate their chemistry of melodrama with creative punch. The RedWaves released their self-titled album in the Spring of 2008 at The Alameda Theatre in San Antonio, Texas. The goal is not to surpass any group or artist, but to bring to life a concept and sound they know exists and is being sought in San Antonio.I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V4.4 (www.strikefile.com/myspace)

Influences: The varying levels of The Red Waves influence allows them to mix their songs up in more ways than one. Bands they listen to, which contribute to this variance are U2 - Death Cab for Cutie - Galactic - Coldplay - Bela Fleck - Albert Hammond Jr. - Bloc Party - John Scofield.Because of this mixture they do not allow their song structure to become complacent or duplicated. The Red Waves pride themselves on their ability to constantly rearrange their song structure based on the environment they are emersed in, allowing the "freshness" of their music to flourish with any audience! The influence is to keep the song new, to re-invent the structure, and to radiate a new found energy for each and every single show!
