THE UNBENDING TREES are a three-piece musical project from Budapest, Hungary. They write and perform very simple acoustic downtempo songs about emotional dependence, panic and other feelings from the deepest and not necessarily nicest layers of a man's soul.
They are signed to Ben Watt 's (ex-Everything But The Girl) Strange Feeling Records , released their "The First Day" EP in the UK on vinyl and download formats, which has then been licensed back to their home-country by mTon/magneoton , and was released on CD with a different artwork late November. The full lenth album "Chemically Happy (With The New Sad)" is out 6th October 2008, preceeded by "Overture" (a duet w Tracey Thorn) as a single 29th September. Welcome.
About the members: Kristof Hajos started off as a friar in a monastery then as the singer, composer and lyricist of the band Café Electrique – a bilingual band playing indie-pop with lots of grooves and guitars, influenced as much by synth-pop as by early beat. Teaming up with Peter Hary, composer, stick player and Balazs Havasi a renown pianist, they create a very simple, puritanist musical project.
