Melodies and songs appeared in my head when I was kid. For a while I ignored them thinking they were someone else's, or even felt something was wrong, like I was hearing voices or something, until I realized it was the NEED to write music, and to just put life into a song. For a while I kept them to myself, that was all I needed. Years went by and I fell in love with a few bands and I just thought to myself "I want to do that...". So I began to show my music around, and got addicted to the feedback.
I was born in Vancouver, raised in Montreal, but moved to Chile when I was 15.
Over there, in my twenties I formed the band "Beerfly", band we had for 5 years before I decided to come back here (Canada) and show my songs around. We did good. Recorded two independent albums. Got a following. Played in the best venue you can play in Santiago, twice. Filled every place we played in. Got blown away each time I would look into the crowd in front of me and see someone I had never seen before sing along to my music and lyrics. "Wow". I thought. "I want more of this".
So I left all of that behind, and came here, only because I wanted more, and still do. There's only so much you can do when you're singing songs in english in a spanish speaking country. So now, I'm back to the start. Left behind the band, and the "fans". Just brought my guitar and my songs. That's it.
