About Me

The Band consists of members of the teaching staff from the Taller de Arte Contemporania (TAC) - a school dedicated to teaching jazz music to anyone who has a love for and desire to play jazz. The school is located in Merida, Yucatan Mexico. All instruments are taught. The teachers are professional musicians from various parts of the world and they direct students in group classes of like-instruments and small ensembles. Students are required to play in mini-concerts at the end of courses. My life playing music started at a very early age in New York. At the age of 14 I was playing in clubs near my home, with older, experienced musicians. I entered the USAF in 1958 and was an Air Force musician for 22 years. Upon retirement from the AF, I got my bachelors degree in music from California State University. Then worked towards masters degree from Chapman University California. Taught Band in the San Jacinto Unified School District for about 10 years. Worked all this time in various bands in the Inland Empire area of southern California. Member of American Federation of Musicians, Hollywood, California. While traveling in Mexico, decided to live the rest of my life in Merida, Yucatan, Mexico. Here I play the best music with the best musicians I know of.
