"The Bronx Is Burning"!
Don't be scared off by the baseball (it is on ESPN, after all); the trailer emphasizes the turmoil and triumph of the '77 Yankees, but the show itself captures the craziness
of NYC during that summer: near-bankruptcy (prompting Uncle Sam to bail it out); 100-degree heat wave; a citywide blackout; and the Son of Sam. Good, good stuff.
I have yet to get caught up in the Harry Potter madness. I say, let the kids have their own shit- my mom didn't try to read my Judy Blume books, and I respect her for that. Grown ass men and women standing in queue for days when they should be out carousing and sowing a plantation of wild oats-George Lucas and J. K. Rowling are laughing all the way to their Scrooge McDuck-sized bank vaults. Here's schadenfreude at its finest.

Fuckin' psychopath, sure, but loyal soldier to the core.
