Quit complaining and be nice to people. Be nice to yourself. It's hard to believe but truly heeding someones thoughts is being more than nice, you are providing an aura of virtue. Give more than you have to. You can't take it with you when it's all over. I follow the rules that I was taught in kindergarten...although basic, they are true. Elementary and high school lifestyles have not left most people I have seen, and it is very much like what life is like here. Elementary school is controlled by the state, government controls the state. I never learned about murder or the chemicals in cigarettes or the reason insurance companies pick and choose who lives or dies or why people will take advantage of others to save face and gain a dose of vain propriety. I never learned about how doing a bunch of drugs will numb my senses to things I don't want to face, and in retrospect I thought that the idea of "aw it's fun" was all that it was about. Because I can laugh at stupid shit and be merry. Doing it for so long, I start to lose purpose and feel like I'm covering up an ugly face in a scene from reality. Sure drugs, pot and beer is fun, and it's good once in while, those are fun feelings, but false feelings. My ancestors didn't sit around playing video games and smoking bongs, they were finding fun with out fake stimulation(but I'm sure they grew that sweet chiba). I am really concerned as to why witty became the popular vote over manners. The idea of thoughtful has gone out the window. Every move I see from society is just a show for you to rate for their clear egoisms. Ego exists, just like money exists, but it is used for the wrong reasons.
It doesn't matter what others think, just do what makes you happy. A round table of opinions is always healthy, though.
"I can't judge any of you. I have no malice against you and no ribbons for you. But I think that it is high time that you all start looking at yourselves, and judging the lie that you live in" - Chuck Manson
"pleasure and pain are the measures of what is good and bad, that death is the end of the body and the soul and should therefore not be feared, that the gods do not reward or punish humans, that the universe is infinite and eternal, and that events in the world are ultimately based on the motions and interactions of atoms moving in empty space."-Epicurus
