TrebaMiBASS a.k.a ismix & nanE.We know each other since childhood and basically we have
been in the music and dj-ing business more than 10 years....together with
friends, mc's Chelo and Ramiz Z. We were pioneers of electronic music in
Sarajevo, called a.p.sound ..
We started experimenting – producing and djing under the Sarajevo siege,
it was singularly experience... atmosphere of magic parties during the war,
early production in the Marin M. studio, back then contact with „desert
storm „ (1994) made us like we look today.... We realized that there so many
things in music that people were not interested in and we couldn't
understand why...new sounds came to Sarajevo with Joss C. and he was most
responsible for our first touches with turntables - Technics mkII... we had
fun...
He did a big thing for Sarajevo electronic music scene...

Then, we started to play music in1998 anywhere we could find electric
power...
( kuk, internet, „futura 1 after party†and free parties) ... it was
exciting to do what we did...everything was new,and music, all kinds of
electronic music was such a strong force for post war time in Bosnia, almost
touchable... This situation was innovative, people like to say „underground“
... free parties with „spiral tribe“ and „interactive music associationâ€
gave us direction where we should go ... We only had the most basic
equipment, but we wanted to make a step from listening to playing records.
We listened to everything: Green Velvet, Der Dritte Raum, Slam, Sven Vath,
Masters at Work and many others artists and dj's, everybody inspired us ...
We were the first independent dj's in Sarajevo because we had our own
turntables and good link for records...always trying to do something
different has been the main thing that has powered us. Once you've found a
formula that works, be it the beats or the way that you arrange a track,
it's very easy to just stick to it. That is boring. It is nice to try and
really push the boat out...We have never intentionally wanted to do
something that will change everything. We just try and do things that sound
different and are interesting to listen it, yet still work on the dance
floor...
The main editor of local student radio, called eFM, invited me to do a music
show (2000) and I continue to work there today...
Let me tell you few words about "magic“
I am come from a background of instrumental improvisation, and I am
interested in the cross – over of noises, vocals, nature, and sounds, to
combine these elements in a structured way.
Ismix has more of a beat improvisation and arrangement approach... that's
exactly where our music and mix match starts...when you work with samples,
sometimes all the parts come together easily, and sometimes you hear a sound
in your head but you can't find the sample that fits and it is pursuit
....To be quite honest; we are personnel in the music, we are dj and
producer, because the music is like lots of tiny thoughts and emotions of
other people that are part of a bigger picture.
This way of thinking, the magic of the gig, the dancing people, the sound
systems, then after hours of parties are a big part of our lives... anyone
who doesn’t know this feeling will never know what it means to be a
listener, producer or dj of electronic music...We would like to conclude with a huge thanks to all those who made this
adventure happen from the very first moment to all those who support our
present and future ideas...
