About Me

In a culture where we hold on to our modern comforts even if they are in conflict with the needs of; ourself, society and the world. It quickly emerges how tough it can be to just to speak from your heart, E.B.T. is a project brought to you by someone who thinks in rhymes (Shin), and another person who sees in melodies (Darsh). Together, they want to create music which conveys a certain positivity.
Rapper - Afshin Rohani grew up in West-London, the name ‘Shin Shin’ seemed to have emerged naturally from friends and is not the intended focus, so if you’re trying to work out the meaning turn towards the music itself. Spending much of his time listening to any tapes or CDs he could find lying around his house, from the beginning Shin had an appreciation of different styles, whilst trying to develop his own. It went from mimicking ‘Will Smith’, to rocking out to ‘Rage Against The Machine’, whatever it was he experienced many movements throughout his teens.
The language of Hip-Hop seemed to express a universal quality which sparked a greater urge to make music, when his headphones first heard the group ‘Gang Starr’ he knew rap could be hard-hitting while also reflecting a positive outlook on life. Although Shin is grateful that he never faced a hard upbringing, his struggle was with mustering up the courage to just let his views be heard. Writing his thoughts and feelings down late at night, produced more than enough fuel to make a contribution to being an MC. Since then, he has been writing material for many years but had only recently started working with bands, before collaborating with Darsh.
Vocalist/Guitarist/Producer Dariush Rashidi, hailed originally from a small desolate town called Redditch in the West Midlands, and moved down to West-London in 2008. The name ‘Darsh’ evolved from many past nicknames, and is a manageable version of his original name. Growing up racially discriminated in a town where cultures either crashed or seemed separated, and boredom was the cause of depression and destruction, Darsh turned to one thing that made his life more bearable…Music!!!
The guitar became his tool in which he could turn his darkness into light, and sadness into delight. Inspired very much by the voice and performances of 'Michael Jackson', to the energy and melodies of 'Nirvana', Darsh knew he wanted to be musical from an early age. Performing with many bands before going solo as ‘Dariush Rashidi’, he later took the name ‘Entry By Troops’ which seemed striking, inspired by a term used within the Bahá'í Faith to depict a time when great numbers of people would unite to promote peace, it was adopted for the name of this new group.
Alternative Rock music, from Darsh’s point of view, seems to reflect and portray an artist’s feelings and life experiences. It is a genre that has the ability to cause people to contemplate through its thought provoking words, raging yet also mellow guitars and complex hard hitting beats. When hearing “All Is Full Of Love” by 'Bjork' for the first time, Darsh instantly thought that Rock was of his past and that Fusion was of his future.
The duo formed in 2006 after meeting through friends, ‘Entry By Troops’ started out by collaborating over the Internet, sending back and forth mp3 files of tracks for potential songs. In 2007 E.B.T. began to work on their sound, which blends indie, hip–hop and electronica music. They are now in the process of making their first EP titled ‘Comfort In Conflict’, with a selection of demo tracks available to listen to on the web, and the full release to be announced in 2009.
