About Me

Extended Banner Editor MySpace Editor MySpace Layouts Glitter Graphics MySpaceI'm the fiddle player and occasional singer with Melbourne Irish trad-machines Trouble in the Kitchen (check out myspace/troubleinthekitchen). I was swept up into the tunes in Canberra in my teens, and haven't ever recovered. Melbourne's my home these days, in the peace and quiet of a little wooden house in (dep)Preston, and at the mo I'm just playing tunes near and far. If I wasn't here I'd be in Ennis, Co Clare, cheers to that amazing mob who taught me so much. Or at White Hart Lane watching the mighty Tottenham. Away from the band, I'm starting to do a few solo gigs, and getting more into the teaching side of things - if you're interested see the gig list for upcoming shows and classes. The tracks I've uploaded here are mainly taken off the new Trouble in the Kitchen album, 'The Next Turn', released Jan 2008. There are also a couple from 'Undertones: Irish music form Australia', an album I made in 2006 with Ben Stephenson on the flute, with Kate Burke backing us up. The tunes on Undertones were sourced off field recordings made in Australia between the 1950s and the late 1980s and held in the National Library of Australia.
