Conceived and created by Rod Ennis, Reszound is based in Adelaide South Australia. The creative foundation of the music is built on the compositional and production talents of Rod Ennis, and co-writer and vocalist Charmaine Jones.
Inspired by all things groovy, the music combines elements of funk, soul, gospel, dance, jazz and r 'n' b to create lavish soundscapes that engage the mind, impact the soul and connect us with the creator...
Hey there!
Welcome to the official MySpace for Reszound, and thanks for checking us out! We hope that you like what you see and hear, and that it impacts positively on your life and situation. We are currently busy getting the word out about this album on the internet, so if you dig the music or know someone who will, please feel free to spread the love!
So who exactly is Reszound anyway? Well, my name is Rod and I'm a freelance composer and musician. Over the years I've been lucky enough to have performed with a bunch of great musos, including David Campbell, Guy Sebastian, Paulini, Emily Williams, Lisa Edwards, Glenn Shorrock, Jayne-anne Power, Trace Canini, Mark Chewey, Jamie Jones, Georgy K, Wilco, Yanya Boston, Ross Irwin and Greg Spence. I'm currently gigging around town with Supernova, the Soul Crusaders and Amity Dry name a few...
I grew up in the Salvation Army (Mum and Dad are Salvo officers) which is where I got my musical start in life, and I was a music director with the Uniting Church in Adelaide for 7 years, which is where I met Char.
Char is from Sri Lanka. She's also a full-time muso and was a Uniting Church MD as well. Char gigs all over town with a bunch of different bands (including the Soul Crusaders so keep an eye out for us!), and teaches vocals at Adelaide Uni. Many years ago we decided to get together to do some song writing, and what you are seeing and hearing is the result of our collaboration.
We can't wait to bring this music to you live with our band, but it will be a while yet... Until then, you can find out more about us and download the songs at www.reszound.com if you like what you hear.
So that's an introduction to the people behind the name. I'll be keeping you all up to speed through the blogs and bulletins that I'll be posting from time to time, so drop by, say hi and stay in touch, we'd love to hear from you!
Cheers, Rod and Char
