About Me

I started out in music when my Dad bought me a mandolin when I was in the 4th grade, the same mandolin that I now play on stage. I moved from mandolin to guitar sometime after that, with my Dad and bluegrass music being a big influence. I played with friends from high school, and then joined the military, forming multiple bands during my eight year enlistment.
After exiting the military, I moved to Texas, and picked up a steel guitar just after crossing the Red River, and decided to add it to the arsenal.
I have spent the past ten years as a utility player with bands in the area, singing lead, and playing whatever instrument needed to be played, most of them with Scott Hall & The Benders .
I first met Scott Hall on a gig at Southern Junction in Rockwall, Texas, where I was a bouncer. We struck up a conversation, exchanged numbers, and the rest is history. Scott and I have been very good friends for the better part of 10 years. I was invited by Scott to perform on his live album "Live At the Horseman Club", which can be found at Lonestarmusic.com .
After my three year stint in the Texas Music scene, I formed my own band Accidental Overdrive, which basically consisted of a bunch of pro players that were not booked for the night getting together and jamming at the Longhorn Saloon in the Fort Worth Stockyards. After the club closed, I was hired as the utility player on steel guitar, acoustic guitar, mandolin, dobro and electric guitar with a local cover band.
I can now be found back on the Texas Music scene as the frontman with the Dirt Road Gypsies Come out and catch one of our shows!
Stay tuned for more from the DRG!!
