from early days Dread has been involved in Dub Reggae music, in the 80s he played percussion alongside his Brother Fred with the band named TARISHI. this introuduced him to the Live circuit, Two Releases was Produced a Disco 45 called JAH CHILDREN & 10inch maxi Called OUTSIDER, during this Time Dread also performed with KELVIN JUDAH & The HANDS & HEARTS Band, This was all happening in his home town of Bedford,were IRONWORKS STUDIO was formed,
JAH Shaka dance would be the place for entertainment these days,so Dread & Fred deceided to make some dubplates for JAH SHAKA. they developed a good musical releationship with him, Leading to many Releases on JAH Shaka Label,
12inch WARRIOR STANCE was the 1st, this 12inch surely opened doors for Dread and fred, A dub Album was in the making called IRONWORKS,
D&F began Performing live with there Digital Duo and The Ironworks Crew, Menalik Gad, Kwasi Asante, Monique, Mikey B, Idren Natural, Jacob Naphty, King Zion Crew,Ras Iyah, this was a showcase set, at the same time DUB was on the rise in UK.. Sound Iration. Alpha Omega, Blacka Mix, Keety Roots, Dub Judah, Disciples,Consious Sounds. was also producing some top Dubz.
Dread and fred continued working in the studio, another LP was produced, ON HIGH this was a dub LP, but ended up with two Vocal tracks, JAH CHILDREN & HIGHEST REGION, Thanks to Jah Shaka, Ironworks music was getting distributed worldwide. this lead to a CD project with Greenseleaves records,Ironworks and On High was put on to one CD, later another LP was produced called AFRICAN CHANT - featuring two vocal tracks from Dread, SIGN OF THE TIMES and WAR & CRIME,
D&F also done a unity project with DUB VENTURE, another 12inch was produced JAH WILL NEVER vocals Ras Iyah, and EARTH ROCKER, then LP called POWERHOUSE - featuring a guest dub track SILK CUT from Bunnington Judah.
1993 - Dread & Fred label was established, 12inch CREATIVE STEPPA & DOWN TO LONG was released, 1994, D&F carried on performing Live, backing many guests - Aisha - Rasheda - Dub Judah - Earl 16 - Sis Arika - Bobby Melody. 1997 the brothers decided to take a break, D&F returned, in year 2000,
The Dread returns,DREADUNITY label was formed a joint project with Dread & Reuben Unitone, D&F Both begin some new studio projects together,and most recently Dread has teamed up with fellow producers, JAH KINGDOM STUDIO - UNITONE - 10 STRINGS - many projects to come on HANDS & HEARTS label, Most recently Released Daweh Congo meets Ironworks Dread - mixed by Reuben Unitone Track called LET US BE FREINDS,
