The band Nehim formed in 2006 were originally called Mandrake, and covered groups such as Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains and Stone Temple Pilots. Soon their style and musical ability changed and saw them creating their own sounds and writing their own material.It..s from here that they started mixing uniqually hardcore/neurothic vein by Jacopo "Abu" Mariotto the drummer (former In Principio Fu Il Ghiaccio) , stoner rock style by Nico Martinelli (bass) and the melodic and decadent atmospheres of the 90..s grunge by Michele Martinelli (guitar), Federico Pilon and Giovanni Pistorelli (guitar/vocals and vocals, former Mauve).
Il gruppo nasce nel 2006 inizialmente col nome di Mandrake, cover band di gruppi come Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains e Stone Temple Pilots ma ben presto la differenza di stile e di formazione dei vari componenti porta alla creazione di un sound proprio e di brani originali. Da qui la nascita dei Nehim che uniscono alla vena hardcore/neurotica della batteria di Jacopo "Abu" Mariotto (ex In Principio fu il Ghiaccio) le sonorità piene in stile stoner rock di Nico Martinelli (basso) e le atmofere melodiose e decadenti del grunge anni ‘90 con Michele Martinelli (chitarra), Federico Pilon e Giovanni Pistorelli (chitarra e voce rispettivamente, ex Mauve).
