Mehmet COBAN

Mehmet Coban was born in 1981 in Izmir.He finished primary and highschool here.In 2000 He went to Ankara which is capital of Turkey for university education, BA.Actually he has been intrested in music since highschool with chourous studies with his friends. In 2004 he began to play classical guitar as a amateur player. His friends, who graduated from Hacettepe University musical school adviced him to play bass guitar. that was the begining for his bass career, .After educational period on bass guitar, he started to play bass guitar with some amateur groups. Mehmet created a group which is name was "Funkalaturka" and he played with many groups also.Mehmet was afeected to Nurhat Sensesli, Erkan Ogur, Ismail Soyberk, John Patitucci, Alain Caron, Marcus Miller. He played with some professional groups and musicians in Izmir ankara and Cyprus. He joined some demo records also he studied with Asim Can Gunduz. Nowadays he studies on Turkish pop music in Ankara and with "Akawa project".He likes Turkish pop music, pop music, funk, r&b, latin, ethnical musics.
