So, we're a group of dudes (dudettes can join though!) that enjoy the great taste and feel of a well-strummed powerchord and a sick 5-note riff overtop a heavy crunching bass lick. 'Nuff said.
we're all about playin whatever we're in the mood for, be it BLS, Good Charlotte, Red Hot Chili Peppers, or Fall Out Boy, we do it all.
A little about our history...and present state...
A short while ago, guitarist of the ever flourishing band Calling All Infidels (R.I.P.) sensed a disturbance in the lineup...and everyone felt it along with him. Briefly before playing Newport, bassist and lead guitarist Dubi and Dan and drummer Shane Bobbitt left the band with intentions of pursuing a different musical approach for each member gone.
This left co-guitarist Lyric Splicer and singer Mattie Jenkins alone in the cold, without much hope of ever making it in the musical world. Matthew then decided to re-join his original success, Pagen Sun, now known as The Prescence, with Karl, Merv, and Efrum, and have since played shows together.
Finally on his own again, Splicer started his own personal career, which for him was going great until he had a lucky break with a new singer, Nich Maloney, who was teamed up with drummer Mitch Gardner looking for members to start a project in the field of crunching music.
Getting the break he needed, Splicer hurridly called Matt at 1 in the morning to beg him to play bass and join him in this band. Matt agreed. This was the start of what is going to be (and already is) one of the most moving bands of rock since Wrenched.
A new chronicle has been written as two very important things happened in one day. At a local Battle of the Bands and Career fest thing, Splicer met up with a fellow classmate, Sam, who showed an extreme passion for the same styles of music they were all down with. Having talked about this situation with Matt previously, should it ever arise, Splicer invited Sam to take Matt's place (Matthew has many other projects to take care of, and said he didn't mind.). With this new addition, the band will now see if Sam has what it takes to tango with Maloney, Mitch, and Splicer's odd style.
Update: Sam for the time being is NOT a member of the band...slot for bass or guitar is STILL open.
Railed has already written it's first song, "God of War" in a jam session involving only Maloney and Splicer a short time ago, and will be run by the rest of the members of the band soon and recorded hopefully soon!
Here's an update as of May 17, 2007:.......Mitch has decided to leave the band due to a personal conflict and has been replaced with Tyler Adams. Welcome Tyler and thank you to Mitch for his services.
Here's a twist of an update: for talent show, RAILED recruited Zach Sheets to play bass (actually playing guitar processed to SoUnD like a bass via the awesome technology of Splicer's basement), and he offered to play Rythm guitar after Talent Show, at which we will be performing our favorites "God of War" and a special tribute to the late great Calling All Infidels.
He also led us on to bassist Todd Charles who, after talking with Splicer, has decided to come down and jam on Saturday. Things look very promising for the band as Talent Show approaches....the final update will have to be done the night after T-Show....expect the unexpected!!!
Talent Show went pretty well!!! We didn't place, and we had some sound trouble, but other than that, we DEFF gained the respect that NOBODY had for us. People were laughing when we walked on, but as soon as Splicer shredded his first intro, and Zach went into God of War, the whole place erupted! It was a total meltdown! RAILED, THE PRESENCE, Dan's band, and Clay's band rocked the place upside down (and Dan in a top hat!)!!! Congrats to everyone for an awesome show. Let's see what Todd has to offer for us tomorrow.
Mr. Todd "THC" Charles is no longer with us due to some very personal conflicts due to distance and such...we are very sad to be without him, and are very grateful for the memories we have with him...Todd was one of the best this town or columbus had to offer, and we will not be the same without him...he is sorely missed...-Lyric, Nich, Zach, and the Drummer(s).
Todd's back. and last night, as a band, we went to go watch our good friends Sollars, Goble, and Boyce as the three piece metal destructionists, Legions of Fire in Chilicothe. it was there that the band realized what their true calling is, and decided to go beyond God of War and venture out of punk stuff in favour of Melodic Metal. Thus a new alias was needed, and a friend we made at the concert gave us the inspiration onto the creation of the name "Undetermined". New material is already in works, as the gears in Splicer's and Zach's heads turn. Let's see if you can match our new speed?
