This site serves a practical function in the world of Take 5, Toronto's Fresh Take on News, Current Affairs, and Live Music on CIUT 89.5 FM, airing weekday mornings from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
Every day, Take 5 features live music pre-recorded at CIUT's Hart House studios. Either solo acoustic artists, or full plugged-in bands, indoors, outdoors, Take 5 does it all.

LIVE MUSIC on TAKE 5 The following information is important to consider when booking and confirming a performance date on Take 5 on CIUT 89.5 FM.
Arriving at the CIUT 89.5 FM Studios
Traditionally, bookings are scheduled between 12- 3pm. Monday - Friday. However, booking requests outside of these times will be addressed. We understand that, for artists coming from outside of Toronto particularly, there may be limitations to scheduling/availability - we do not want that to deter you from contacting Take5.
Our talented & committed Live Music team is often able to accommodate alternate scheduling needs - in an effort to maintain diverse Live Music programming.
Technical Requirements & Instruments/Sound Equipmentt
Our technical staff will need to know if the performers have any specific technical requirements. Please provide us with information about how many musicians will be in attendance and what instruments they will be using. A sound technician from CIUT will help the band setup and plug in before the performance.
We are able to provide musicians with the following instruments/sound equipment:
1 Drum kit: Kick, Snare, Rack tom, Floor tom, Hi hat stand (no clutch)
2 cymbal stands. * you will be required to bring your own breakables*
1 Bass amp: Yorkville XM100 1 Guitar amp: Traynor YCV40 - no foot switch
2 D.I boxes 2 keyboard stands
Directions / Locations / Parking
CIUT is located at Hart House. If driving, take Harbord/Hoskin past St. George, then a right into Tower Road. Hart House is two blocks south of Bloor (and St. George Subway) between Queen's Park and Spadina on the University of Toronto campus.
Artists can unload and find suitable parting at a meter on Tower road.
